DPO Bahawalnagar reviews Muharram security arrangements in Chishtian, issues strict instructions
CHISHTIAN: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmed has stated that strict legal action will be taken against any elements involved in law violations or spreading sectarianism during Muharram.
The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by District Police Officer Bahawalnagar Muhammad Imran, conducted a detailed inspection of traditional and licensed procession routes in Chishtian city. He issued important instructions to field officers to make security arrangements foolproof.
The officials reviewed entry and exit points of procession routes, identified sensitive locations, and directed law enforcement personnel to remain highly vigilant throughout Muharram. Strict directives were issued to ensure all processions and gatherings strictly follow designated routes and timings.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed field officers to maintain close coordination with peace committees, community leaders, and volunteers. He directed that CCTV cameras be installed at all sensitive locations for monitoring.
Emergency response teams have been placed on high alert. The DPO Bahawalnagar Muhammad Imran assured that police are fully prepared to provide a secure environment for mourners and participants of Muharram processions.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to citizens to cooperate with the district administration and report any suspicious activity immediately through the helpline.
