Garbage Piles Outside Streets, Schools and Mosques in UC-04 New Karachi, Says Youth Councillor Hafiz Shiraz Ahmed

KARACHI: Youth Councillor Hafiz Shiraz Ahmed has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating sanitation conditions in Union Council (UC) 04 of New Karachi Town and has called on the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) to take immediate action. According to local residents, heaps of garbage have accumulated along streets and outside schools and mosques, creating foul smells and raising fears of disease outbreaks.

Hafiz Shiraz Ahmed said that despite paying taxes regularly, residents are being forced to live in unhygienic conditions instead of receiving the clean environment they are entitled to, questioning the performance of the relevant authorities. Residents complain that the ineffective waste collection system has disrupted daily life and is causing significant hardship for children, senior citizens, students and worshippers.

The youth councillor urged the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to launch an immediate cleanliness operation in UC-04, remove the accumulated waste without delay, establish an effective and sustainable solid waste management system, and ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for the people of New Karachi Town.
