PESHAWAR (Bureau Report): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has been selected for the prestigious ASOCIO Digital Government Award 2026 in recognition of its achievements, innovation and contribution to digital transformation in the public sector across the Asia-Oceania region.
According to a statement, ASOCIO, or the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation, is a leading regional ICT federation representing more than 24 economies across Asia and Oceania, including Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
The ASOCIO awards are regarded as among the region’s leading ICT recognition programmes, honouring excellence, leadership and transformative impact in digital innovation.
KPITB Managing Director Akif Khan told Dawn that the board secured the prestigious recognition on the basis of the Digital KP Roadmap 2030 and its Dastak platform. He said the Dastak app had previously won first place in the Government and Citizen Services category at the International Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025 in Taiwan, competing against entries from 17 countries.
The public service delivery platform was recognised for its contribution to digital governance and AI integration.
KP Information Minister Shafi Jan said the recognition of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s performance in technology and digital development at the international level was a proud moment for both the province and Pakistan.
He said the award was evidence of the provincial government’s efforts to implement its digital policy and use technology effectively to improve public services.
KPITB said the international recognition belonged to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its entire team, reflecting their collective commitment to building a smarter, connected and citizen-centric Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
