Heatwave Alert Across Punjab from June 8-11: Temperatures to Soar Up to 48°C

LAHORE – The Meteorological Department has issued a severe heatwave alert for Punjab from June 8 to 11, with temperatures expected to reach between 41°C and 48°C in various cities across the province.

According to the Met Department, from June 8 to 10, temperatures are likely to reach 41°C to 44°C in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujrat. These areas will experience hot and dry weather.

From June 8 to 11, temperatures may reach 44°C to 48°C in Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Jhang. These cities will experience a severe heatwave.

During the same period, temperatures are also expected to reach 44°C to 48°C in Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Pakpattan, and Rahim Yar Khan.

The Met Department has forecast similar temperatures of 44°C to 48°C for Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Layyah, Bhakkar, and Kot Addu during June 8-11.

Citizens, especially children, the elderly, and women, are advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, drink plenty of water, and take necessary precautions to protect against the heat. Farmers and livestock owners have also been instructed to take care in safeguarding crops and animals.
