Balochistan Expands Administrative Structure to 11 Divisions and 41 Districts

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has officially notified a major administrative reorganization, increasing the province’s administrative structure to 11 divisions and 41 districts to improve governance and public service delivery.

According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Revenue Department, the provincial capital Quetta has been divided into two separate districts—Quetta East and Quetta West. In addition, Mastung District has been transferred from the former Kalat Division to the Quetta Division, making Quetta Division a three-district administrative unit.

Under the new arrangement, Quetta East will comprise the Sariab, Saddar, and City sub-divisions, while Quetta Westwill include Kuchlak, Burori, and Panjpai sub-divisions.

The government has also abolished the Kalat Division, replacing it with two new divisions: Khuzdar Division and Lasbela Division. Khuzdar Division will consist of Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab, and the newly created Wadh District, while Lasbela Division will include Lasbela, Hub, and Awaran districts.

A new Pishin Division has also been established, comprising Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, and the newly created Breshore District.

In another administrative change, Sibi Division has been renamed Sivi Division, which will include Sivi, Dera Bugti South, and Kachhi districts.

Following the reorganization, Balochistan’s 11 administrative divisions are Quetta, Rakhshan, Makran, Nasirabad, Zhob, Loralai, Koh-e-Suleman, Pishin, Lasbela, Sivi, and Khuzdar.

The provincial government said the new administrative framework is intended to strengthen governance, improve administrative efficiency, and ensure better delivery of public services across the province.
