Ex-SHO, Six Policemen Flee Court After Bail Rejected in Alleged Fake Encounter Case

KASUR: A major development has emerged in the alleged fake police encounter case involving the 2024 death of Rizwan, as former Mustafabad Station House Officer (SHO) Hassan Imran and six other policemen fled the Lahore sessions court after their pre-arrest bail applications were rejected.

According to police sources, the Federal Investigation Agency recently registered a case against the former SHO and his subordinates following a complaint filed by the victim’s family. The complainants alleged that Rizwan was unlawfully taken into custody by the police, implicated in fabricated criminal cases, and later killed in a staged police encounter.

At the time of the incident, the police had claimed that Rizwan was wanted in multiple cases and was shot dead by his own accomplices during an encounter. Following the rejection of their bail pleas, all seven suspects reportedly escaped from the court premises to avoid arrest. Kasur District Police Officer Aftab Phularwan has constituted special teams to apprehend the absconding officers. Police officials confirmed that all seven accused had already been suspended from service after being nominated in the FIR.
