Bahawalnagar Launches Independence Day Sports Gala with Inter-District Hockey Tournament
BAHAWALNAGAR: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Muhammad Wasim said that sports play a vital role in promoting discipline, healthy activities, and positive thinking among the youth. He stated that the Independence Day Sports Gala provides young athletes with an excellent platform to showcase their talent and strengthen the spirit of patriotism.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Inter-District Hockey Tournament, organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the promotion of sports and encouraging youth participation in healthy recreational activities remain among the government’s key priorities.
The ceremony was attended by District Sports Officer Uzma Bashir Ahmed, Tehsil Sports Officer Muhammad Shafqat, Tehsil Sports Officer Muhammad Usman, officials from various government departments, school students, athletes, and a large number of citizens.
The opening ceremony highlighted the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the role of sports in fostering unity, discipline, and national pride. The event officially marked the commencement of various sporting competitions, with players displaying remarkable enthusiasm and competitive spirit during the opening hockey match.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress, and prosperity, while participants expressed their patriotic spirit by chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” and reaffirming their commitment to celebrating the nation’s Independence Day with unity and dedication.
