Education Department Employee Alleges Corruption and Administrative Irregularities in Chishtian

Chishtian (Report: Mumtaz Anjum): Allegations of corruption, administrative misconduct and misuse of authority have surfaced against officials of the District Education Department (Female) in Chishtian, prompting demands for an independent investigation and third-party audit.

According to reports, a Grade-IV employee, Sajjad, accused officials of administrative irregularities, favoritism and abuse of authority during a media interaction. He alleged that the husband of the District Education Officer (Female), who is not a government employee, frequently remains present in the office, interferes in official affairs and allegedly mistreats staff members.

The employee claimed that after he complained about the alleged conduct, instead of an inquiry being initiated, he was transferred to a distant posting. He stated that the transfer has created financial hardship for his family, as his travel expenses exceed what he can reasonably afford.

Sajjad further alleged that staff postings and duty assignments are being influenced through unauthorized intervention and claimed that some employees who are reportedly residing abroad continue to receive government salaries, causing financial losses to the public exchequer. He called for a comprehensive audit of the department’s administrative and financial affairs.

The employee appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Chief Secretary, the Provincial Education Minister, the Commissioner Bahawalpur and other relevant authorities to order an impartial inquiry and third-party audit. He requested that any officials found responsible for misconduct or financial irregularities be proceeded against in accordance with the law.

The allegations have not yet been independently verified, and no official response from the District Education Officer (Female) or the Education Department was available at the time of filing this report.
