Mayor Inaugurates Renovated KMC Sports Complex in Landhi

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the newly renovated Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Sports Complex in Landhi Town, reaffirming the city’s commitment to expanding quality sports and recreational facilities for residents.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the mayor said the modern sports complex would provide affordable recreational opportunities for ordinary citizens, particularly the youth of Landhi and surrounding areas. He emphasized that quality public spaces should be accessible to everyone, including low- and middle-income families.

The renovated complex offers modern facilities for a variety of sports, along with a public swimming pool and martial arts training. Murtaza Wahab said the project aims to encourage healthy activities among young people and provide them with opportunities to develop their sporting talent.

He noted that sports promote discipline, teamwork and a competitive spirit, making them essential for building a healthy and productive society. The mayor added that KMC is continuing to improve sports infrastructure across Karachi to ensure residents have access to quality recreational facilities within their own communities.
