NAB Uncovers Forgery in Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project, Launches Investigation

KARACHI – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has obtained crucial evidence regarding alleged forgery in the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project, sources confirmed on Saturday.

According to NAB officials, the ongoing inquiry has now been converted into a formal investigation. In the next phase, references will be filed against those involved in the fraudulent scheme.

Sources revealed that NAB has begun tracing individuals linked to the forgery, including certain real estate agents and officials of the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project (LERP). These suspects are accused of involvement in forgery and deception.

The accused allegedly sold files of illegally prepared plots to unsuspecting citizens. NAB sources further stated that those who have fallen victim to the forgery should contact the NAB Karachi office.

The Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project was originally designed to rehabilitate families displaced during the expressway’s construction. However, allegations of document tampering and fraudulent plot allocations have now raised serious questions about the project’s administration.

Authorities have urged affected citizens to come forward and provide evidence to assist in the investigation.
