Suspected Dacoit Killed in Alleged CCD Encounter Near Sahiwal

Sahiwal: The Crime Control Department (CCD) has claimed that a suspected dacoit was killed during an alleged armed encounter near Malang Mor in Sahiwal, while two of his accomplices managed to escape.

According to the CCD, the deceased, identified as Qadeer Hussain (45) from Khudian Khas, Kasur, had recently escaped from CCD Pakpattan custody while on physical remand in a murder and kidnapping case. He was reportedly wanted in multiple criminal cases.

Officials said CCD teams from Sahiwal and Pakpattan intercepted the suspects near Chak 78/5-L, where the suspects allegedly opened fire on law enforcement personnel. After an exchange of fire lasting around 20 minutes, Qadeer Hussain was found dead with bullet injuries, while the other two suspects fled the scene. A pistol and motorcycle were recovered.

The body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for a postmortem examination by a medical board. Authorities said operations are underway to arrest the fleeing suspects.

In a separate development, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) also claimed that another suspected criminal, identified as Kabir, who was wanted in 45 criminal cases, was killed in a separate alleged encounter near Sahiwa
