Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Launches ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ Scheme, Allots Farmland to 30,000 Landless Families

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has conducted the computerized balloting for the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” initiative, under which 30,000 landless families have been allotted cultivable government land to promote sustainable livelihoods and agricultural development.

Under the scheme, a total of 121,000 acres of state-owned agricultural land will be leased to eligible families for 20 years, enabling them to earn a dignified income through farming and become economically self-reliant.

Following the balloting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz spoke by telephone with Abdul Sattar, son of Mukhtar Ahmed from Faisalabad, the first successful applicant selected through the computerized draw, and congratulated him on his success.

Earn your livelihood through your own hard work, live with dignity, and never have to depend on others,” the Chief Minister told the beneficiary during the conversation.

Addressing the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz said the initiative marks another milestone in the Punjab Government’s public welfare agenda. She appreciated the project team for implementing the programme within a short period and turning the vision into reality.

She added that the scheme would enable 30,000 families to become independent landholders, reducing their reliance on intermediaries while creating sustainable employment opportunities through agriculture.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to launching more welfare initiatives aimed at empowering farmers, supporting underprivileged communities, and promoting agricultural growth across the province.
