Revenue Official Alleges Assault Inside Government Office, Political Influence Claims Surface in Chishtian

Patwari Haseebullah, posted in Mauzas 34/F and 14/G in Chishtian, claimed in a video that has gone viral on social media that he first received a phone calls from men identifying himself Khalid, and then Saad, who allegedly introduced himself as the personal secretary of an influential local political figure. According to Haseebullah, the caller allegedly pressured him to issue a land record (Fard) without verification and verbally abused him when he refused to violate official procedures.

He further alleged that shortly afterward, six to seven men entered his government office, physically assaulted him, and allegedly took away sensitive government revenue records relating to land and property before leaving the premises.

The incident has sparked widespread reaction on social media, with citizens demanding Chief Minister Punjab, IG Punjab Police, RPO Bahawalpur and DPO Bahawalnagar a transparent investigation and strict legal action against those responsible if the allegations are proven.

The case has also revived earlier allegations that members of the same alleged land-grabbing group had previously assaulted local journalists, but no effective legal action was taken due to the group’s alleged political backing. These claims, however, have not been independently verified.

At the time of filing this report, the police had not issued an official statement. The allegations remain subject to investigation.
